Jagriti Awasthi of Bhopal, who has secured All India 2nd rank in UPSC examination and 1st rank across the country in the list of women, is very excited. Jagriti from a middle-class family who left the job for two years and prepared for UPSC. Jagriti has also secured 51st rank in GATE exam earlier.
Jagriti’s father, Professor Dr. SC Awasthi, is a professor in the Government Medical College of Homeopathy, while her mother Madhulata Awasthi is a housewife. Madhulata herself was a teacher but she left her job for the sake of children’s education. Second topper Jagriti completed her engineering studies with merit in 2017 and then started a job in BHEL Bhopal by securing 51st rank in GATE. After leaving the job after 2 years, Jagriti prepared for UPSC and today she is feeling very excited to get the All India Second Rank. Jagriti had a special conversation with TV9 Bharatvarsh about this journey.

Jagriti Awasthi Strategy
Jagriti used to study for 12 to 14 hours
When Jagriti was asked about her result, she said that she is feeling very good. Completed one year dedicated preparation, left job in July 2019, prelims in 2020, worked very hard. At the same time, she told that in the initial months, she used to study for 8 to 10 hours a day. After that, when the exam came near, I studied for 10 to 12 hours, then for 12 to 14 hours.
Two years engineer job in BHEL
When asked about leaving the job and turning to UPSC, Jagriti said that I gave prelims in 2019 while doing the first job, I did not, but when I saw the questions, I felt that I can do it. I thought I would have to leave the job. My brother motivated me a lot. Then I did the repair. Jagriti further said that I have done an engineer job in BHEL in Bhopal. In 2017, I gave the GATE exam, after which I started working in BHEL, I also had a rank of 51 in GATE.
Expressed desire to work in the field of rural development
When Jagriti was asked in which sector she wants to work next, she said that I want to work in the field of rural development. I know that India’s huge talent is in rural areas. I want him to be brought out, so I think India can develop a lot. At the same time, Jagriti gave the credit of this success to her parents especially her brother and teachers.
Mother said, the child should be supported according to the ability
On the other hand, on this success of Jagriti, her mother Madhulata Awasthi said that she is very happy and she did not face any problem regarding her daughter. He also said that every woman should help her children to study. Madhulata Awasthi said that one should never think whether it is a daughter or a son. If he has potential, then he should be fully supported to move forward.
